Interview 4 Guys From The Future par Jessica BAGIC

Hello. You're about to perform for one of the very first times in France tomorrow night, at The Flèche d'Or, how do you feel about meeting your French audience?
Answer: Good. We don't really..we're not really sure we have a French audience yet, but we're looking for to play.
Under The New Morning Sun is your first album as a group. Can you tell us about how you met and decided to gather to form your own group since you've all had a great deal of experience on your own in music before you joined in 2009?
We all met in Berlin, some time ago. We met down there and recorded these songs, and it wasn't really anything we decided, to make a band or make this new album, or anything really. We just recorded these songs, and then the one step to the next..and now we're here.
There are different styles of music among the songs of your album. I'll take you away sounds like an ethereal waltz, whereas the beginning of the Astronomers of the Heart slowly speeds up the pace and and hurry us into a melody which is punctuated by several sounds that complete the ones of the beginning. Would you say there's one particular kind of music that inspires you, or you're rather open to music in general and enjoy the richness of it?
That would be the second answer. You know it's like modern music, and not only modern but also post-modern music or whatever the music today, it's really a gathering of different influences and it doesn't really make any sense anymore to talk about influences almost because it's like.. There's such a big, big variety of influences and that's from every band from here to New York, or Los Angeles and they all have the same influences almost so we're really competing worldwide now, we're not competing like in small cities, in small subcultures or groups it's like worldwide subculture, which is pretty heavy.

Your evolve in a personal and rich universe. Your songs often explore sounds which are not usually heard in songs. For instance, Cutting your Fucking Heart Out which doesn't need any lyrics to "take us away". Can you explain us how you bring these songs to life, if there is one particular source of inspiration, the daily routine, or sounds you hear now and then?
There's no simple answer to that. You know, Cutting your Fucking Heart Out is an improvisation, it's just an abstract piece of music to which we added a title; it's just like a painting, an abstract piece of music really..with a name on it! And of course the title refers to the story of the album, the stories we wanted to tell on the album, and the other lyrics of course.

Life is Up to You is probably one of your songs whose groove is the most enforced and efficiently leads us into an addictive round. Can you tell us a bit more about this song?
A: Life is Up to You has this basic groove of continuity and still kind of inspired by this modern sound, or more modern is really the big influence, it's hard to really say. And then it's really, on the top we have these vocals, really big vocal arrangments, again inspired by some kind of hip hop stuff; there's no effects on it, it's really close, close sounds. And then you have just a really big level of keyboard suddenness or whatever you call it.. a lot of weird things going on. And the subconscious level of this song of course, but in this pop song.. but in this pop song, cause it's what we like to do.
You've also often been referred to Beta Band, and even Pink Floyd which witness of the belief that some experts have in you. Beside the great compliment it consists in, do you feel some pressure or do you simple agree or understand that some may think that you are, in a way, the descendants of these two groups.
I feel no pressure. We are the descendants of hundreds of groups, and that's how it is and how it should be. So, there's no pressure, we just have to do the best that we can.

4 Guys From the Future is a Danish band whose new album, Under The New Morning Sun, will be released in France next October. Born in 2009 and composed of four members, this group deals with new sounds to guide us into their rich and attractive universe, as all the members have put into common the different experiences they’ve had on their own before in order to explore and develop the richness of Mother Music. Bjarke Porsmose (Vocals, guitar and keys), Jarno Varsted (Keys, guitar), Mads Brinch Nielsen (Bass, vocals) and Rasmus Valldorf (Drums, vocals) have given a great importance to experimentation in the process of bringing to life most of the songs of their album. Listening to their record is a new experience as the nine songs are unique and are rocked by the influence of different styles, several genres.
Abstract pieces of work leaving no room for lyrics follow ethereal waltzes, while more groovy songs punctuate the whole. Bjarke Porsmose mesmerizes us with his voice while his partners give echo to the lyrics and let us catch a glimpse of the great dimension of their work. The four of them definitely have something new to offer in the sphere of music and make their contribution to the process of creation and reflection on music. They performed for the first time in France at the beginning of June (on the 10th) in Paris, at the Flèche d’Or, and met a French audience already seduced by the couple of songs they played that night. For the moment, they have some concerts planned abroad, but let us hope they’ll soon be back in France so that we could enjoy once again diving into their own world with them!

Don´t Help Me Up

FOUR GUYS FROM THE FUTURE : Don't help me up...
par VoltaireOnline.eu
Don´t help me up
I took it too far
I wanna stay here
I don´t want to be judged
Isn´t it fair enough, when life´s coming too near
Leave it to the judging ones
I know their truths and how they add some
I won´t leave a tear
I´m driven by fear
I have felt too much
I have lost my trail
Life´s got me on probail
And I´m loosing touch
The world embrace another son
He left his truth with his income
No one can force me
No one can force me
And when you´re happy you don´t really need me
I won´t leave a tear
I´m driven by fear
I have felt too enough
I have lost my trail
Life´s got me on probail
And I´m loosing touch
The world reflects before the sun
It seeks for truths when there are none
Anyone can do this to anyone
no one can force me
No one can force me
And when you´re happy you don´t really need me
While the bombs fell from the bluest sky

Today went away like another
I chilled in the sun
And a nap brought me beyond
While the fathers went away
To save their sons
Today went away like another
